Pre-Graduation Thoughts
By arzhou | November 18, 2008
Time really does fly…. 4.5 years in NUS is almost coming to a close. In another 3 days, I will be doing my presentation on my final year thesis, and then 2 more days after that its my one and only examination paper. (which I can S/U somemore) In 5 more days… just 5 more days, university life as I known is going to come to an end. Then its off for my graduation trip and to discover what the future holds for me post graduation.
Somehow this feeling is quite surreal, its the ending of a very significant chapter of my life story. The people I met, the things I did while in university definitely had a significant impact on who I am today. No regrets going to NUS, although when I first started university I was pretty upset about not getting a scholarship to go Cornell to study. Then again, if not for that, I would not have gone to NUS Chemical Engineering, would not have gone on the NOC programme, would not have started Energy Carta and did the Asian Youth Energy Summit, would not have met all the people I have met in the past 4.5 years. Not just my fellow chemical engineering classmates and friends, but also friends from the NOC programme, the bloggers I met through ping.sg and other blogger events, friends from gaming (DAOC/WOW/battlestations) and people I met as I stumbled along with life.
Ok enough ranting, time to hunker down and study, last paper, there is no way I am going to let myself screw this up. (Typical chemical engineering mugger trait)

We all end up feeling a little lost after graduation because school life, as we know it, ends the moment they hand you that scroll. Unless you take the grad school route, it’s onto the job market.
It’s new, frightening but at the same time exciting, doing new things. Good luck with your future. It’s going to be different journey, a different life from now on.
