ping.sg Prawning Outing (prawning is cruel)

Ping.sg outings are stating to get more and more unique aside from the usual dinner meetups. Now we even got prawning aka prawn fishing outings! Thanks Krisando for organizing this time. We went to Hai Bin Prawn Fishing which was located in Bishan.
I thought I was going to be late for this outing since I woke up at 7pm after a short afternoon nap (overslept), turns out I was actually the first to arrive at the pond. Waited a while before the others arrived. Those who came were Krisandro(organizer),KKNN, Daphne, chaosdingo, Wendy, Adber, Shotgun, Berlin, Claudia. Not to mention those who brought along their + 1
Got a total of 5 rods and started prawning hard. In the end most of us did catch at least 1 prawn. I caught 1 prawn and spent most of my time just chilling out, helping to unhook the prawns.
Notable things that occurred during the entire prawning session:
- Claudia’s hook got stuck on the roof of the tentage, no idea how she pulled so hard that it can get there.
- Kris caught a super small prawn, which he flung back into the water for wasting his bait.
- Shotgun could only catch rocks
- The guy on my right was catching prawn after prawn after prawn. Noticed his rod was a gold rod, must be some enchanted rod with +100 to prawning powers. Makes me wonder why I stayed in that same area to prawn.
Sooooo after catching the prawns the next logical step is to cook them. Cooking the prawns is a really simple thing, just skewer them and thrown them on the BBQ. Problem is the skewering part, somehow i could not really bring myself to skewer a live prawn while it was still moving. Makes me feel like I am Vlad the Impaler (otherwise known in popular culture as Dracula). Ok in the end Claudia did show me how and I got used to it, so I did impale a few prawns.
Must really suck to be a prawn, you can thrown into a pond where you get fished up by a hook, then get your claws removed, impaled with a skewer and if you are still alive, more like half alive, you get to enjoy the feeling of being roasted alive. The group of uncles next to me at the BBQ pits had this huge prawn, that was over 2 times larger then what we caught. They have to hold the prawn down with tongs as it was being roasted as it really struggled.
