My Precious Laptop

Sometimes when studying alone in NUS, I find it a real challenge not to go toilet, not because I am scared of any “ghost” or anything, I just happen to have my laptop with me all the time, to check email etc. Going to the toilet would mean the laptop would be left alone on the bench, ripe for someone to steal it. Once I even dashed all the way to Macdonalds just to buy lunch and dashed back, cos of my laptop.
Sure you can ask people around to look after it, but most of the time, they will just agree and go back into their own study world, not much confidence there (there are some who really do watch, but they are rare).
This is not because my laptop is worth alot, heck after all that its been through, i value it at 20% of the original price. More importantly is that there are lots of information on it. Not the Edison Chen kind, but more of all my work, my reports, resumes, databases etc etc etc
Such information is a real pain to replace, its like losing your handphone and needing to find everyone’s contact number again, only its 10 times the trouble and pain! So in the end, I usually just carry it around with me.
Anyway I was REALLY lucky to get a copy of BAK2u’s upgraded version Verey I for Windows, which is an antitheft software for laptops. Finally i do not have to worry about my laptop when i buy my usual 20 pieces of nuggets from NUS macdonalds. If anything happens at least i know that i have a chance of getting it back!

that’s why i don’t like to bring my labtop to school. my friend used to carry her labtop with her to queue for food… i was so tempted to watch her labtop and let her buy her food first. it’s so troublesome!!!

This is weird, considering that you are studying in NUS, and you’re living in Singapore I’d think that the likelihood of theft would be very small.
