Ping.sg Outing @ Island Creamery

This Sunday afternoon (Today) was really hot and it was definitely good weather for Ice Cream. Which was what the Pingsters had today during another one of our gatherings. Today we met at Island Creamery which is suppose to be well known for its funky flavour ice cream. Those who attended were rinaz, attilio, paced, dhope, malique, claudia + bf, ntt, aaron84z, chillycraps and ethan who came much later after I left.

We ordered a total of 4 tubs to eat, with flavours as funky Teh Tarik, Nutella, Reverso and Burned Caramel. Here are my opinions of each of the flavours

Teh Tarik: It definitely tastes like the actual teh tarik you get at a coffee shop. At one point of time, me, Chillycraps and Mr. Malique were discussing on how you Tarik the icecream.

Nutella: Contary to Chillycraps who thinks it tastes like red bean, I think it taste more like green beans. This one was on the flavours that I did not like the most of the 4. It seemed too light and was not what I expected when the name was Nutella.

Reverso: Very very rich chocolate taste. But too rich for me towards the end when I felt full. Not really too impressed with this as there are many other ultra rich chocolate ice creams out there

Burnt Caramel: Its amazing that you can actually taste the slight chao da (burnt) taste. And the caramel flavour was really rich, yet this ice cream felt light. This is probably my favourite flavour of the 4. Its got sweetness, lightness, richness, burntness all rolled into 1 yummy tub.

Overall, the ice cream at Island Creamery were creamy but not as creamy and rich as Cold Stones which I had while I was in New York. Now that was really good. I guess one could say it was overrated, but I find that their use of unique and perhaps localised flavours were a plus point.

Oh yea I forgot to talk about the outing! NTT brought along his cool podcasting thingy which looks more like a) Taser b) an electric shaver. We got to try it out as well, with Rinaz recording her sexy “hello” voice. We also joked and talked about lots of stuff so I shall be lazy to summaries everything.
