NUS Flag day = Dodge the Pink People?

By arzhou | August 7, 2007

Currently, all freshmen in NUS is undergoing Orientation Week (aka week 0). Today was NUS annual Flag day as part of Rag and Flag. So many freshmen and their councilors were placed all over Singapore wearing pink shirts and holding up that tin can for people to donate. They were seen at Vivocity, Orchard and various MRTs in Singapore

I think it is becoming a yearly ritual for me to try and dodge them, especially since I know my home turf like the back of my hands. And every year I think they have been improving, with people being placed at really strategic points making it hard for me to escape. This year I was unsuccessful in dodging and took to just walking past with a rather bad mood look on my face… actually i was just exhausted from my swim.

*Disclaimer: In no way does the author of this blog encourage people not to donate to charities, just that I already donate money directly to causes of my choice.

Money by right will go the Charity, but I am not sure if NUSSU or the faculty clubs take a percentage or not.

If you don’t want to donate, just say no lor. Why need to dodge? So troublesome.

But I usually donate a bit.

I donated a dollar coz this cute NUS girl asked me nicely.

Anyhow, if I don’t feel like I want to donate to a cause, I just politely say “No, thanks”, smile, and move on.

    Dodging is more tiring IMO.

Dodging is just a challenge to see if they were able to cover every strategic point heh
